LOS ANGELES CIRCUIT & CLUB DJ

From Masterbeat to Tribal Bitch, bringing tribal tech house to LA's biggest stages

Joshua D built a strong presence in Los Angeles's vibrant gay nightlife scene through a close partnership with Ray & Dante Events, one of LA's most influential LGBTQ+ promoters. His foundation in LA was a regular residency at Reflex, the weekly afterhours at The Factory/Ultra Suede in West Hollywood, where he honed his late-night sound alongside the city's underground tribal house community. This led to performances at venues like The World Famous Crocker Club in downtown's historic banking district for events like Breaking Dawn. He caught the attention of Masterbeat, the nation's largest gay dance event producer, earning a coveted opening set at the Momentum main event during Labor Day LA 2013—a weekend that featured icons like Tony Moran and Joe Gauthreaux. That same year, he helped relaunch Los Globos in Silverlake with the Detention party, bringing Funktion One sound to what was historically LA's first gay nightclub.

His LA performances scaled up at The Belasco, the stunning 40,000 sq. ft. downtown venue where he performed alongside DJ Paulo at Tribal Bitch for New Year's Weekend 2013, and later with Phil B at D-Compress during Veterans Day Weekend 2018. Even during the pandemic, Joshua D maintained his LA connection through virtual events—spinning for LA Pride's Tribal = Tech showcase and the Back2WERK Labor Day stream benefiting The Trevor Project. From his weekly Reflex residency to massive circuit weekends, Joshua D's Los Angeles journey spans the full spectrum of the city's electronic dance scene.
